Thirty rows · the year each was lost, and why
The ones that are gone
A list of Hidden Mickeys is written once and then rots. Thirty rows in this register are recorded as no longer there, and a reader sent after one of them is standing in front of a wall that was repainted in a refurbishment. This is the dated record of what was lost, when the record says it went, and what the record says happened to the place.
How this section is put together
By park, in the order the parks opened, and inside each park by the year the record says the spot was lost. Nothing here is ordered by interest and nothing is counted. Each row carries what the register carries and no more: the place, the area, the years, and the reason given for the loss — which often names what stands there now.
For 26 of the 30 rows there is something the register does not carry and this house does: an attestation out of Disney's own dated guide maps. The house holds 171 of those sheets. Where one prints the name of the place a find sat in, the count and the dates of the earliest and most recent sheet are printed beside the row. A sheet attests that a name was printed on a date. It cannot attest that a name was absent, and it says nothing about the Mickey.
One of them, on the operator's own sheet

A detail of Disney's own printed guide map to the Disney-MGM Studios. The Earffel Tower -- a water tower wearing Mickey ears -- is drawn and labelled EARFFEL TOWER, beside the soundstages, Mickey Avenue, the Walt Disney Theater and Post Production Editing & Audio.
Disney-MGM Studios guide map, held in the house map register as MGM 1996-11
PDF page 1 of MGM_1996-11.pdf. The crop is positioned by the PDF's own text layer: the build searches the page for the words EARFFEL and TOWER and centres on where the sheet itself places them, so the caption cannot drift from the picture.
Dated 1996-11. The house map register dates this sheet 1996-11 and records its basis as "file name gives the month, not the day". The month is published and the day is not, because the day is not known.
F:\DEEPVAULT\wdw_mapscans\MGM_1996-11.pdf, one of 171 dated Disney guide map sheets held here. The sheet carries its own printed code, "© Disney J6DM5005 9601292", which is reproduced rather than decoded.
The Earffel Tower is one of the thirty removed rows: the register records it lost in 2016 for Toy Story Land construction. This is the operator's own sheet, dated, printing the structure while it stood. It attests the place, and nothing about any Mickey reported on or near it.

Why a removed row is kept
Removed Mickeys are the point of a Time Machine layer. Never delete a gone row. A find that stood in a queue from one year to another is a dated record of a place that no longer exists, and that is the business of this record. Deleting it because it can no longer be found would leave the reader with no way to tell a thing that was never there from a thing that was taken away.
The one fact this record turns on
Disney publishes no list of Hidden Mickeys. Of the 126 rows carried in this register, the number whose owner is the operator is zero, and the register says why: there is no operator list to have. The standing rule in this house is that research is a lead until the operator's own page is opened. On this subject the operator's pages have been opened, and what they say is that the practice exists, that Disney's own guides point some of these out on a tour, and that guests also find three-circle shapes that were never meant to be one. None of them names a location. So nothing here is ever promoted out of lead, and that is the subject of these pages rather than a caveat printed under them.
Disney publishes no canonical Hidden Mickey list; this is one app's catalogue.
How to read these pages
- Lead
- Every find below is a third party's report. It is carried, attributed and dated, and it is never printed in Disney's voice. The register marks all 126 rows LEAD and this page cannot change that.
- The from-year
- The workbook carries a from-year for each row. It does not state whether that year is when the find was first reported or when the place itself opened, so the figure is printed as the workbook's own and nothing is inferred from it.
- The difficulty ladder
- The workbook grades every find on a four-step ladder. The ladder is not published. In its place each row carries a plain sentence about the looking itself, attached to no score, counting nothing and ordering nothing.
- The class column
- The workbook also carries a class column of A and B whose meaning the record nowhere states. It is not published, because a letter nobody can explain is not a fact.
- Order
- Place order, or the order of the years the record carries. Nothing on these pages is ordered by interest, and nothing is counted towards anything.
- A guide map
- A dated sheet can attest that a name was printed on it. It can never attest that a name was absent, and it says nothing at all about a Mickey. Every attestation below is a count of sheets held in this house, never of sheets Disney printed.
- A quotation
- A passage is quoted only where the reading is clean English. One repair is declared and it is the only one: a line break in the printed original is rendered as a space. The raw reading is printed beside every quotation so the repair can be checked rather than trusted, because a corrected quotation is an invented one.
Register read 2026-09-14 from WDW_Time_Machine_Layers_SEA_Hidden_Mickeys.xlsx. Built 23 September 2026. The house holds no photograph of any Hidden Mickey, and none is implied by the pictures on these pages: they are printed pages that name the practice, and one of Disney's own map sheets.
